Hawbush Clean Up

Posted: May 10, 2022 by tidystourbridge in Litter

A very damp start to the pick on Sunday 8th May but absolutely brilliant, we had 15 volunteers who really got stuck into the mess particularly around the field at the junction between Harrison and Swanfield Roads.

We also covered other roads near this spot and by the One Stop shop so no shortage of rubbish.
It was pretty difficult getting the rubbish out of the trees around the field but despite the brambles and thorns the team did an exceptional job. Our 15 including a welcome return from Graham a longtime member of TS plus

Dave and Dawn, Dave W, Rachael, Doug, Tony, Ivor, Martin, Roger and newcomers Margaret, Emily, Mike and their boys Arthur & George. We collected 16 black bags of rubbish, a large and very heavy metal fence, traffic cone, double mattress, a large suit case, 3 crates, part of a plastic chair, various pieces of metal, a wooden frame, bags of bottles and cans. Apologies to Margaret, Emily and Arthur who missed out on the photos below, but we did release Dave, Dawn, Dave W and Doug from the large metal frame in the last picture below.
