If the ‘Beginning’ has a Tale, why do we always end up at the Beginning?

Tidy Stourbridge: Sunday 24th September 2017: Time: 10:00am.                                   Dudley Tool Ltd, Mill Street, Wordsley, Stourbridge, DY8 1AD

A crew of 12 today. Roger, Ivor, Tony, Sarah, Helen, David C, Pat, Andy Craig, Geoff, Rachael, and a very warm Hello to Andrew Tromans.

Well today was the Velo Birmingham Cycle Event with 15,000 cyclists. Leaving Birmingham they did a 100 mile circular route, finishing off where they started. We just managed to avoid this for the litter pick meet up point, though we did encounter some cyclists on route. It was in aid of Cure Leukaemia, NSPCC, Alzheimer’s Society and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. A large number of cyclists were from Dudley Borough itself.

The Litter Pick: This was a challenging job today, with many very tiny pieces of paper – sweet wrappers and similar. Many cigarette packets and crisp packets.

Now what are they all looking at?

We set off in all sorts of directions and most of us managed to get trapped somewhere on route with a mass of rubbish.

11 Bags of rubbish. 1 X Ironing Board, 1 x Wheel Trim, 1 x remainder of a settee plus 1 x Dustbin full of crushed cans,  plastic bottles, glass bottles.

A couple of us went to the IKON Gallery today ( Wednesday ) where their were several pieces of work based on Rubbish – Leaves in drains, skips and it was all very interesting and made a statement.

The next litter pick will be Sunday 1st October ( weather permitting ) at The Stourbridge Institute, Market Street, Stourbridge, DY8  1AD
